Accounting Intern (Part-Time)

Marshall Goldman Motor Sales & Leasing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Accounting Intern to join our accounting department. This internship is designed for a college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business who is looking to gain practical, hands-on accounting experience in a professional environment.

Working directly with the Controller and accounting team, the selected candidate will assist with bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end accounting processes while gaining valuable exposure to the accounting operations of one of the nation’s premier luxury automotive dealerships.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with vehicle inventory accounting and inventory management
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Research and resolve account discrepancies
• Assist with month-end closing activities
• Prepare Excel schedules and supporting reconciliations
• Review accounting records for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed
• Support the Controller and accounting department with special projects
• Perform additional accounting and financial analysis as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business
• Completion of introductory accounting coursework required
• Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate-level student preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy
• Professional demeanor with a strong work ethic
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, sorting, filtering, pivot tables)
• Previous office, bookkeeping, or accounting experience
• Interest in pursuing a career in accounting or finance

Compensation
